Our History
- Founded by Patrick J. Sheehan in 1978, CDA came into being exclusively as a fixed annuity product wholesaler for NYSE major wirehouses and quickly evolved to include partnerships with life brokerage (regional, independent insurance brokerage companies) and financial institutions (banks, thrifts and credit unions).
- CDA has extensive history with the nation’s most highly regarded insurance brokerage operations and has developmental contracts with a host of carriers. CDA’s officers have been represented as guest speakers at meetings and conventions including N.A.I.L.B.A., N.A.L.U., M.D.R.T., Top of the table and L.I.M.R.A. CDA-authored articles in publications such as Broker World, Life Insurance Selling and Best’s Review.
- CDA has designed nearly one hundred insurance products and marketing programs for over two dozen insurance carriers.
- CDA was directly involved with Bear Stearns and Standard and Poor’s in developing the Premium Asset Trust (P.A.T.) business. This was a multi-billion-dollar initiative sold globally.
